Eid e Zahra

EID-E-ZAHRA-O-SHUJAA:

Eid-e-ZAhra is a day of celebration, a day in which even the Maula Rasoolallah SAWAW rejoiced. This day holds importance due to numerous events that transpired on this day in history.

One of the events which is marked on this day is the beginning of the Imamat of our 12th Imam, Al-Hujat Ibn Al-Hasan ASWS AJTFS. His father, Maula Hasan Askari ASWS left this world on the 8-Rabi-ul-Awwal, immediately after, his son took over the mantle of leadership. His leadership has spanned over 1,171 years, and as he is the living and present Imam, we have the potential of being his companions just as great personalities such as Hazrat Bilal, Salman, AbuZar, Maysam AS and countless others were companions of their living Imams. However, we need to strive to emulate such individuals and work towards being our Imam’s chosen helpers and assistants.
The day also marks the first time that our 4th Imam, Maula Sajjad ASWS, smiled and rejoiced after the tragic events of Karbala in which he saw his entire family and loyal friends murdered in cold blood by Ibne Ziyaad LA, Umar Ibne Saad LA, Yazeed Ibne Mawiyah LA and the others who were responsible for the crimes.   History notes that it was on 9-Rabi-ul-Awwal-67 AH, when Hazrat Mukhtar Ibne Ubaidullah Saqafi AS sent the head of Ubaidullah Ibne Ziyad LA to Maula Sajjad ASWS who was in Makkah at the time.

Receiving heads of these tyrants, Maula Sajjad ASWS paid thanking prostration to Allah saying, “Thanks to Allah for He took revenge from our enemies" and prayed for Hazrat Mukhtar Ibne Ubaidullah Saqafi AS in these words, "May Allah reward Mukhtar good.”

It is noted that the Maula Rasoolallah SAWAW himself was seen smiling and celebrating on this day while in the presence of Maula Ali ASWS, Maula Hasan ASWS and Maula Husain ASWS and said, “It is on this day that Allah will destroy your enemies and the enemies of your grandfather and it is on this day when Allah will accept the actions of your Shia and those who love you. This is the day when the words of Allah came true where He said, in the Quran, ‘So those are the houses fallen down because they were unjust. (27:52) And this is the day when the Firoun of the time of the Ahlul Bayt ASWS was destroyed.....”

On 9th Rabi ul Awwal, the army of Hazrat Muhammad e Hanafia a.s and Hazrat Ibrahim bin Maalik e Ashtar a.s took over Kufa from Ibne Ziyad maloon. He and many other leading Maloons were parcelled to hell that day.

Ibn-e-Taous narrates in Zawaed-ul Fawaed that Holy Prophet (S.W.)’s companion, Hazrat Hozayfa Yamani (R.A.), said that he went to holy Prophet (S.W.) on 9th of Rabi-ul Awwal and witnessed him smiling while he had his eyes on the faces of his grandsons Imam Hassan (A.S.) and Imam Hussain (A.S.). He said to them: ‘Surely on this day, Allah will ruin His enemy and enemy of your grandfather, and prayer of your mother will be accepted on this day, and this is the day when Allah accepts deeds of your followers and your devotees…”
Imam Ali (A.S.) told Hozayfa Yamani (R.A.) 72 names of this Eid Day. Some of these are: Youm-ul Eid As-Sani, Youm-ul Istaraha, Youma Raf’il Qalam, Youma Eid-Ullah Al-Akbar, Youma Ijabatid Duaa, Youma Farh-ush Shia, Youma Eido Ahlil Bayt (A.S.) and Youma Saroor-e-Ahlil Bayt (A.S.).
